Akai MPC 3.0: A Game-Changer for Producers

The Akai MPC community is buzzing about MPC 3.0, a free and major update to the MPC operating system. This comprehensive overhaul introduces long-awaited features and a complete redesign, bringing a fresh perspective to music production.

A New Main Mode: Your Creative Hub

The most significant change in MPC 3.0 is the introduction of a new Main Mode. This central hub provides quick access to all your tracks, offering a unified view of your project. From here, you can easily preview audio editing and MIDI information, even sampling directly to pads. Akai Professional promises a streamlined experience, blending visual feedback, vibrant colours, and seamless navigation for every project parameter.

A Linear Arranger: DAW-Style Workflow

MPC 3.0 also welcomes a Linear Arranger, seemingly inspired by the Akai Force. This DAW-style arranger brings all track types - audio and MIDI - together in a single window, breaking down the traditional workflow. The interface is color-coded for easy track type identification, and automation is available for each track, submix, and main output.

Enhanced Mixing, Macros, and More

MPC 3.0 takes mixing to the next level with a new track and pad mixer mode for swift audio adjustments. Individual XL channel strips provide comprehensive control over sends and plugins, even allowing for plugin order changes.

Macro functionality receives a boost with Q-Link macro controls and an XY multizone performance macro pad. Additional new features include disk streaming, stacking drum samples up to eight deep per pad, an updated grid mode, and support for Stems, offering greater flexibility in your workflow.
