Affleck and Garner: United Front at Daughter's College Start Amid Lopez Divorce
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have put on a united front as they dropped their eldest daughter, Violet, off at Yale University. The former couple were spotted together in New Haven, Connecticut, on Sunday, marking a significant milestone for their 18-year-old daughter who is beginning her freshman year.
The "Daredevil" co-stars were seen smiling and enjoying dinner with their two older children, Violet and 15-year-old Seraphina, over the weekend. Their youngest child, 12-year-old Samuel, appeared to have not joined the family trip to the East Coast.
Garner, 52, opted for a casual look for the family outing, sporting a striped tee paired with jeans, after wearing black athleisure earlier in the day. Affleck, also 52, dressed in an unbuttoned green shirt layered over a grey tee and khakis, while Seraphina chose a graphic tee and cargo shorts. Violet was seen in a floral dress, sneakers, and a face mask.
The teenager recently revealed during a Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting last month that she "contracted a post-viral condition in 2019," but assured the attendees that she is "OK now."
Violet's journey to Yale has been the subject of much speculation since she was spotted wearing university merchandise. While Garner and Affleck didn't confirm or deny the rumours, Garner did speak about Violet's transition on the "Today" show in June. "I was a wreck the whole month leading up to it," the "13 Going on 30" star confessed. "Every awards ceremony, every final, everything, I just cried and cried at everything."
Garner and Affleck were married from 2005 to 2015, and have consistently prioritized co-parenting their children, frequently reuniting for family events. Garner was most recently seen at Affleck's rental house on his birthday last Thursday.
However, the recent news of Jennifer Lopez filing for divorce from Affleck after months of speculation adds a layer of complexity to the situation. Despite the challenging circumstances, Affleck and Garner have demonstrated their commitment to raising their children together.
