Adele Confirms Engagement to Sports Agent Rich Paul

British singer-songwriter Adele has seemingly confirmed her engagement to sports agent Rich Paul, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding the couple's relationship.

During a concert in Munich, Germany on August 9th, the 36-year-old Grammy-winning artist responded to a fan's marriage proposal by stating, "I can't marry you, I'm already getting married." While waving her left hand, she appeared to not be wearing a ring, though she was spotted sporting a pear-shaped diamond on her ring finger last month while out with Paul in London.

Adele's confirmation follows numerous whispers of an impending wedding. In August 2022, she revealed to *Elle

magazine that she was “obsessed” with Paul, saying, “I’ve never been in love like this.”

The couple first sparked dating rumours in July 2021 when they were photographed together at an NBA Finals game. Basketball outings became a recurring feature in their courtship, and they eventually made their relationship Instagram official in September.

Adele later shared in an interview with *Vogue

that she and Paul had actually met years earlier at a party. She recounted the humorous encounter, explaining, "I was a bit drunk. I said, ‘Do you want to sign me? I’m an athlete now,’” she recalled. "He was dancing. All the other guys were just sitting around. He was just dancing away.”

In a November 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Adele praised her partner, calling him "hilarious, funny, and very smart." She shared that their relationship marked a turning point in her life, where she had learned to “love myself and been open to loving and being loved by someone else.”

The pair further ignited engagement rumours in February 2022 when Adele sported a substantial sparkler on her ring finger at the BRIT Awards. However, she remained coy about the jewellery's significance during a subsequent appearance on *The Graham Norton Show*, saying, "As if I would ever tell anyone if I was or wasn't [engaged]. It's lovely though, isn't it?"

In August 2022, Adele expressed her openness to marriage and expanding her family. “I definitely want more kids,” she told *Elle*. “I’m a homemaker and I’m a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music.”

Paul celebrated his 41st birthday in December 2022 by attending Adele’s Las Vegas residency show, where she serenaded him with “Happy Birthday.” "I love you more than life itself — we wish you happy birthday,” she told him.

A source told PEOPLE in May that the couple's "relationship is solid" and "They help each other and are good partners,” adding that Adele "loves being with him.”
