The eagerly anticipated second season of "1923," the "Yellowstone" prequel, is continuing its filming spree in Central Texas. After showcasing scenes in Austin and Lockhart, the production will be heading to Bartlett, located approximately 50 miles north of Austin, for filming on 19th and 20th August.
Legacy Casting, the casting agency for the series, revealed the upcoming filming locations and dates in a Facebook post on 31st July. The post advertised a call for men, women, and children to fill background roles for the western saga.
On 19th August, the production requires actors to portray sheriff's deputies, men in suits, women townsfolk, construction workers, servers, and a bartender. For the 20th, they seek men in suits, women townsfolk, children, female switchboard operators, US soldiers, and Comanche men, women, and children.
To participate, individuals must attend a paid fitting in Austin, with a £28 compensation offered. Men must be willing to shave or modify their facial hair and trim or cut their hair to align with 1920s fashion trends. Visible tattoos on hands, forearms, neck, or face are not permitted, and all jewellery must be removable.
Interested individuals are instructed to email extras@legacycasting.com with "1923 BARTLETT" in the subject line. The email should include their name, phone number, height, weight, a recent photograph, and the desired role.
Filming for the new season commenced on 8th July and is expected to conclude in mid-September. The production of the Paramount+ show is estimated to inject over £41 million into the Austin-area economy.
Episode Count and Premiere Date
The number of episodes for the second season of "1923" is currently unknown. The first season comprised eight episodes, airing from December 2022 to February 2023. The show was renewed for a second season midway through its first run.
While a premiere date for the new season has not yet been announced, it is anticipated to be sometime in 2025. A trailer for the second season is also yet to be released.
Filming Locations
Thus far, scenes for "1923" Season 2 have been filmed in and around Austin, including Austin itself, Lockhart (transformed to resemble 1920s Fort Worth), and now Bartlett.
The first season of the show was filmed in Montana, Tanzania, South Africa, and various locations across Europe. Its companion series, "Yellowstone," has filmed scenes in Montana, Texas, and Utah.
