Anthropic turns Claude into an interactive workplace hub

Anthropic embeds Slack & Asana into Claude
CLAUDE WORKSPACE
  • Anthropic has embedded Slack, Figma, Asana and Amplitude directly inside Claude.
  • The integrations use Anthropic’s open Model Context Protocol (MCP) to let teams create projects, send messages and analyze data without leaving chat.
  • The change turns Claude from an AI assistant into an interactive enterprise workspace and reduces context switching across apps.

What Anthropic announced

Anthropic has integrated major workplace apps—Slack, Figma, Asana and Amplitude—inside its AI assistant Claude. The move builds an interactive enterprise workspace where users can take actions across tools directly from chat.

How it works: Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Anthropic says these in-chat integrations are powered by its open Model Context Protocol (MCP). MCP provides a standard way for apps to share context with a model so Claude can understand and operate on live workspace data.

That enables Claude to surface relevant project information, compose messages, trigger project creation in Asana, preview Figma designs and surface analytics from Amplitude without forcing users to switch tabs.

Why it matters for teams

By embedding Slack, Figma, Asana and Amplitude, Claude becomes more than a conversational assistant: it becomes a command center. Teams can complete common tasks—sending messages, starting projects, reviewing designs and pulling metrics—inside a single interface.

Reducing context switching can save time and keep workflow continuity, especially for product, design and analytics teams that juggle multiple tools during planning and execution.

Enterprise implications

The open nature of MCP suggests Anthropic aims for broader interoperability, letting other vendors or internal tools adopt the same approach. That could make Claude a hub for a company’s app ecosystem rather than a closed play.

For enterprises, centralizing interactions through Claude may simplify workflows, but it will also raise questions about access control, data permissions and audit trails. Organizations will need to evaluate how integrations enforce governance and security policies.

Bottom line

Anthropic’s in-chat embeds move Claude from passive assistant to active workspace platform. With Slack, Asana, Figma and Amplitude available inside Claude via MCP, teams can act on projects and data faster and with fewer interruptions—while enterprises weigh the trade-offs around governance and control.
