Qatar Airways Brings Caviar to Business Class on US Routes

Qatar Airways is raising the bar for business class travel by introducing caviar on select routes, beginning 15 August. The Doha-based airline will initially offer this luxurious treat on 13 routes, including six US destinations, with plans to gradually expand the service to other routes.

Caviar, typically reserved for first class passengers, is a welcome addition to Qatar Airways' already impressive business class experience. The airline aims to elevate its onboard offerings and set new industry standards for passenger comfort and indulgence.

Six US destinations will be graced with the caviar service:

Boston Logan International Airport (BOS)

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

Other routes benefiting from this upgrade include:

Asia:

Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)

Singapore Changi International Airport (SIN)

Australia:

Melbourne Airport (MEL)

Sydney Airport (SYD)

South America:

São Paulo Guarulhos International Airport (GRU)

Europe:

London Heathrow Airport (LHR)

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

Qatar Airways operates Airbus A350 and Boeing 777 aircraft on most of these routes. For longer routes like those to Australia, the airline deploys its Airbus A380 superjumbo fleet.

Commenting on the caviar service expansion, Xia Cai, Qatar Airways' Senior Vice President of Product Development and Design, stated: "The introduction of caviar service, commonly available only in first class cabins, further elevates Qatar Airways' award-winning business class experience. We are committed to continuously enhance our onboard services to elevate the industry's standards and delight our passengers."

This new development comes after Qatar Airways CEO Badar Al Meer reaffirmed the airline's commitment to the Airbus A380 at the Farnborough Airshow 2024. Al Meer highlighted the superjumbo's suitability for routes where airports impose capacity restrictions.

This marks a change in stance from the airline's previous CEO, Akbar Al Baker, who had previously described the A380 as a mistake. However, with the aircraft's reintroduction into the fleet, Al Baker acknowledged that it was not a long-term solution.

The addition of caviar to the business class menu signifies Qatar Airways' ongoing dedication to enhancing passenger experiences and solidifying its position as a leader in air travel. The inclusion of this luxurious delicacy is sure to further elevate the airline's reputation for providing exceptional service and unparalleled comfort.
