Nikola Expands Hydrogen Network in Southern California with New HYLA Station

Nikola Corporation, a leading provider of zero-emission transportation solutions, has bolstered its hydrogen infrastructure in Southern California with the launch of a new HYLA refueling station at Tom's Truck Center in Santa Fe Springs. This strategic move signifies Nikola's commitment to supporting the growth of its Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks (HFCETs) in the region.

Located just off the busy Interstate 5 Freeway, the new modular HYLA station is now operational and serves as a critical component of Nikola's dealer network. The station marks a significant milestone in the company's ambition to reach a total of 14 refueling solutions by year's end, a mix of HYLA and partner stations strategically positioned to cater to customer needs.

Nikola's proactive approach prioritizes the timely deployment of fueling infrastructure, ensuring that HFCETs have readily available access to hydrogen. This proactive strategy aligns with the company's mission to be at the forefront of the hydrogen revolution.

Ole Hoefelmann, President of Energy at Nikola, highlighted the importance of collaboration in achieving this goal, stating, "Nikola is committed to leading the hydrogen revolution by collaborating with key industry partners to strengthen and expand our hydrogen supply chain." He expressed gratitude to the City of Santa Fe Springs, the Santa Fe Springs Fire Department, and Tom's Truck Center for their vital support in bringing the project to fruition.

Tom's Truck Center, a key partner in the Nikola sales and service network, shares Nikola's dedication to a sustainable future. KC Heidler, President and CEO of Tom's Truck Center, expressed enthusiasm for the new station, stating, "We are thrilled to be the first in the U.S. to offer a hydrogen refueling station onsite at our dealership to support the first wave of Nikola hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks now on the roads."

The strategic placement of the Santa Fe Springs station alongside existing HYLA stations in Ontario and Long Beach forms a robust hydrogen fueling triangle in Southern California. This network now provides access to clean energy for a population exceeding 12 million individuals across multiple counties.

Nikola's HYLA refueling network offers a comprehensive range of solutions, including modular and permanent HYLA stations, "behind-the-fence" options, and strategic partnerships such as with FirstElement Fuel in Oakland, California. Nikola's dedication to customer satisfaction is demonstrated through 24/7 support from dedicated HYLA Ambassadors and Operation Technicians, ensuring a smooth and efficient fueling experience.

Beyond its commitment to clean transportation, Nikola prioritizes customer experience through its HYLA network. Nikola's unwavering focus on delivering exceptional customer service through dedicated HYLA Ambassadors and Operation Technicians ensures a seamless and efficient fueling experience.
