Supermarkets and high street shops across the UK have issued a series of product recalls due to safety concerns. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has been warning consumers about various popular food items in recent weeks, urging shoppers to avoid consuming them. Affected products should be returned to the point of purchase for a full refund.
Meat Recall:
The Isle of Wight Meat Company has recalled several Isle of Wight Meat Co Biltong products as they were manufactured without the necessary approval, making them unsafe for consumption. The recalled items include:
Isle of Wight Meat Co Biltong Original: All best before dates up to and including May 2025.
Isle of Wight Meat Co Biltong Sweet Chilli: All packs, all batches, all best before dates up to and including May 2025.

The FSA issued a strong warning: "If you have purchased any of the above products, do not consume them. Instead, please take a photograph of the packets, destroy them and email orders@chevertonfarm.co.uk with the photograph for a full refund. Brennans has stated that there is a "very small risk" of metal fragments in their products and has apologised for any inconvenience caused. Lidl has also issued a statement requesting customers to return the affected products for a full refund.
Syrup Recall:
Leo's Import Export & Trading Ltd is recalling Buram Nuts in Syrup due to the presence of potential foreign bodies and apricot kernels, which can release hydrogen cyanide when consumed. The recall now includes all best before dates for the following product:
Buram Cerezli Nuts in Syrup: 420g, all best before dates.
The FSA advises consumers to return the affected product for a full refund.
Chocolate Recall:
Harvey Nichols has issued an urgent recall for Lustrous Hazelnuts in Dark Chocolate due to undeclared milk constituents, posing a risk to individuals with milk allergies or intolerances. The affected products are:
Harvey Nichols Lustrous Hazelnuts: 175g, batch codes 231012, 231017, 230926 and 240228, best before dates September 30, 2024 and October 30, 2024.
