Everton Partner with SmartFrame to Expand Global Reach and Enhance Fan Engagement
Everton Football Club has signed a deal with SmartFrame Technologies, a leading UK-based tech provider, to become their official photography and image-streaming distributor. The partnership aims to reach new audiences worldwide while simultaneously offering existing fans a fresh way to engage with the club.
SmartFrame's innovative image-streaming technology allows Everton to showcase high-quality imagery and bring supporters closer to matches, events, and key moments. The agreement grants Everton ownership of its official images and associated copyright, giving them greater control over their use.
Alongside the club's in-house photography team, action press international, and photographer Bob Martin and his team, will exclusively distribute images online through SmartFrame's platform. This collaborative effort ensures a consistent and high standard of image quality.
The partnership will also provide Everton with additional commercial revenue through SmartFrame's ad tech solution. This allows for occasional advertising and sponsorship placements within images, reaching new global audiences through the platform already adopted by prominent sports and entertainment brands.
SmartFrame's images feature interactive capabilities like full-screen viewing and Hyper Zoom technology. Crucially, the platform protects images from theft and misuse while providing valuable data on how audiences interact with Everton content.
Scott McLeod, Everton's Head of Engagement and Communications, highlighted the importance of images in online communication. "We are excited to be leveraging SmartFrame's technology and exploring new commercial opportunities for our archival and future content," he stated.
"This partnership allows us to reach new audiences around the world while simultaneously engaging our existing fans in fresh ways."
Rob Sewell, CEO and Co-Founder of SmartFrame Technologies, echoed the excitement surrounding the partnership. "We are delighted that Everton has chosen to adopt our model," he said. "This agreement marks another stride forward in our commitment to building an image ecosystem rooted in ethics and transparency."
Sewell expressed confidence that the partnership will strengthen the image ecosystem as more organisations like Everton come on board. "I very much look forward to our journey working together," he concluded.
The partnership between Everton and SmartFrame is a significant step towards modernising the club's image distribution strategy, reaching new audiences, and strengthening fan engagement. With a focus on quality, transparency, and innovation, this partnership is poised to benefit both Everton and its supporters in the years to come.
