Cushman & Wakefield Appoints Veteran Miles Treaster as Head of Capital Markets

Cushman & Wakefield (CWK), a leading global real estate services firm, has announced the appointment of Miles Treaster as President of Capital Markets for the Americas. Treaster, who boasts over two decades of experience in institutional commercial real estate debt and equity capital markets, will assume his new role on 1 September, based in CWK's San Francisco office.

This marks a return to the firm for Treaster, who previously worked as an analyst in CWK's investment sales group between 1999 and 2000. He joins the company following a successful career in real estate investment and advisory, most recently as a founding partner of Five Horizons, a firm he established in 2022. At Five Horizons, Treaster spearheaded the raising of investment funds for limited partners and high-net-worth individuals, while concurrently managing the firm's CRE investments across the United States.

Prior to Five Horizons, Treaster held leadership positions at prominent real estate firms Westbrook Partners and DRA Advisory. His extensive experience spans acquisitions, structured finance transactions, and the disposition of a diverse portfolio of properties, encompassing office, multifamily, industrial, retail, and hotel assets.

Dan Broderick, CWK's President of Advisory for the Americas, highlighted Treaster's impressive track record and his deep understanding of the capital markets landscape. "With his extensive executive experience in institutional investing across a wide range of product sectors and geographies, as well as deep experience in all layers of the capital stack, Miles is a perfect leader to strategically drive growth and deliver sophisticated solutions for our clients," Broderick said in a statement. "He has unique industry insights and relationships, and he is widely regarded throughout the commercial real estate industry."

Treaster's appointment comes after the departure of Carlo Barel di Sant’Albano from the position of CEO of Global Capital Markets earlier this year. Broderick had been serving as interim head of capital markets since then.

Andrew McDonald, CWK's Global President and Chief Operating Officer, underscored the significance of Treaster's appointment, stating that it reflects the firm's commitment to strengthening its institutional capital markets platform. "Today’s announcement demonstrates our commitment to growing our institutional capital markets platform with the right expertise," said McDonald. "We are transforming our capital markets business, and Miles is the right leader to drive our collaborative and data-driven approach to advising our investor clients."

Treaster's appointment signals CWK's ambition to bolster its capital markets capabilities and position itself for further success in the evolving real estate landscape. His vast experience and proven leadership will be crucial in driving the firm's capital markets strategy and providing innovative solutions to its investor clients.
