The iconic Belle Isle Aquarium will be extending its opening hours throughout August, offering an extra day of fun and education for families thanks to a generous contribution from Comerica Bank.
Previously open only from Friday to Sunday, the aquarium will now be welcoming visitors every Thursday in August, providing even more opportunities to explore its fascinating underwater world.
âWeâre incredibly grateful for this support from Comerica Bank and excited to give families an extra day to enjoy and learn before the summer comes to an end," said Meagan Elliott, Chief Executive Officer of the Belle Isle Conservancy. âAnd for anyone who hasn't yet visited the Belle Isle Aquarium, now is the perfect chance to see why it was recently crowned the most beautiful aquarium in America!â
Comerica Bank is also demonstrating its commitment to the Detroit community by organising a cleanup on Belle Isle for its team of volunteers on Saturday, August 10th.
âComerica and the Belle Isle Aquarium have a long history of serving Detroit, and as we approach our own historic 175th anniversary, we felt it fitting to support another notable institution that has given back so much to the city,â said Steve Davis, Comerica Bank Michigan Market President. âIt's crucial that we maintain and preserve our natural surroundings and historical landmarks, ensuring our city thrives and future generations can enjoy the park's unique environment."
The historic aquarium will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Thursday to Sunday until August 29th. Entry is free, although a £5 donation is encouraged.
This exciting extension of opening hours offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the wonders of the Belle Isle Aquarium and discover the diverse marine life that calls it home. So, grab your family and head down to Belle Isle for an unforgettable day out this August!
