Barrow-in-Furness is set to embrace the festive spirit this weekend with two events promising a delightful blend of Christmas cheer and community spirit.
On Saturday, 16 November, Barrow Library will transform into a winter wonderland with a Christmas market organised by Westmorland and Furness Council, "Love Barrow Libraries", and "Furness 4 You". The event will run from 10am to 2pm, offering a warm welcome with free mince pies, hot chocolate, and an array of snacks and drinks.
"We've got a fantastic line-up," shared a spokesperson. "Visitors can expect a range of fun activities, stalls brimming with homemade treats, and engaging displays from local organisations. To add to the festive atmosphere, a choir will be performing live." The event promises a perfect opportunity for families and friends to kickstart their Christmas preparations.
Sunday, 17 November, sees a different festive offering with a Christmas Fayre hosted by Walney Community Trust at Spring Mount Hall on Amphitrite Street. Running from 10:30am to 1:30pm, the event has an entry fee of 50 pence.
