Balmain Appoints New Chief Marketing Officer to Fuel Growth

Balmain has appointed Bruna Scognamiglio as its new chief marketing officer, the latest move in a series of management changes by parent company Mayhoola as it sets its sights on propelling the brand to new heights.

Scognamiglio, a seasoned marketing executive with over two decades of experience at prestigious brands including Procter & Gamble and Ferragamo, will report directly to Balmain's new chief executive officer, Matteo Sgarbossa. Her appointment becomes effective on September 9th.

The brand has entrusted Scognamiglio with overseeing all aspects of Balmain's global marketing strategies, including image direction and communications. This appointment marks a significant step in Balmain's ambition to solidify its position as a leading force in the luxury market.

Scognamiglio succeeds Txampi Diz, who stepped down in March after a 17-year association with Balmain. Diz initially worked with the brand under the umbrella of public relations firm KCD in Paris, before transitioning to the role of chief marketing officer in 2017.

Scognamiglio joins Balmain from Ferragamo, where she spent five years progressing through various roles, ultimately reaching the position of global brand and marketing director. Her impressive career trajectory also includes stints as head of digital communication at Tod’s Group and vice president of global public relations and influencer marketing for Gucci Beauty at Coty.

Her extensive background in the luxury sector, particularly in digital communication and influencer marketing, makes her a valuable asset for Balmain as it prepares for the launch of its beauty line this autumn, under license with Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. This venture marks a key expansion for the brand and will play a crucial role in its ambitions for global leadership.

Scognamiglio will be working closely with Olivier Rousteing, Balmain's creative director since 2011, to amplify the brand's presence and solidify its position as a global powerhouse in luxury goods.

Mayhoola, Balmain's parent company, is confident that the brand possesses a vast potential, far exceeding its current size. The company aims to achieve significant growth without compromising the brand's reputation for exceptional products and experiences.

Scognamiglio's appointment signals Balmain's commitment to driving innovation and expanding its reach in the competitive luxury market. With her strategic expertise and understanding of the luxury landscape, she is poised to lead the brand into an exciting new chapter.
